Fructose is a natural sugar found in a variety of foods such as fruit, honey. It is regarded as a simple carbohydrate with a low Glycemic Index rating. Its low rating on the GI scale means Fructose is digested over a prolonged period of time resulting in a less impact on blood sugar when compared to Dextrose or Maltodextrin.

It is regarded that the body can only absorb around 60g of glucose per hour due to limited transport systems in the body's digestive system. However, Fructose does not convert to glucose for digestion it passes directly through the intestine wall. So combining Fructose with other carbohydrates (Dextrose or Maltodextrin) will allow you to absorb more carbohydrates per hour and potentially increase your energy levels further.
